Who We Are
The local chapter of the Model A Restorers Club (MARC) was organized in 1971 with 35 members. We now have over 160 members with over 40 Ford Model A's in our club. Ownership of a Model A is not required to be a member, neither is being male required. Our club is also affiliated with the Model A Ford Club of America (MAFCA). The Club has since been renamed "Hawk-A Model A Ford Club" effective November 18, 2009.
If you are interested at all in Ford Model A's and might be interested in joining our club, or would like more information about Model A's or the club, contact a Club Member or, better yet, come to one of our meetings, which are held on the fourth Tuesday of every month, except December, at the Hiawatha Community Center.
What We Are and Do
Besides having monthly meetings, the Club has periodic Technical Sessions where we focus on one part (i.e. the brakes) and learn how to adjust it, fix it, and replace it, if necessary. The Club goes on tours in the Midwest with our cars where we drive the back roads to find interesting sights and museums. A couple of tours a year are multiple day events and challenge our members to keep the cars running.
Our club holds an extensive library on the Ford Model "A" to assist the member in learning about his car. We also have a collection of specialized tools that the mechanic will need to work on his Model A.
